Installation Instructions

It is highly recommended to have your custom hood emblem professionally installed.

This product will need to be heated to become pliable enough to adhere to the Jeep hood curvature. However, with extreme caution this can be done at home.

  1. Clean the area that you're planning to install the emblem. This doesn't mean just soap and water. You want to ensure there isn't any grease, wax, or any other substance to cause issues with adhesion. Rubbing alcohol doesn't always work, it's recommended to use a high quality degreaser, and then use rubbing alcohol. Once cleaned and dry, find the center point of your hood. Line up the included template to the bottom edge and center point of the hood. Tape into place with painters tape.
  2. Preheat your oven to 180-200 degrees. Lay one set of your letters face up onto a flat sheet (cookie sheet) and heat them for a minimum of 20 minutes. Once heated, extreme caution must be had, very carefully remove a few letters and place the letters onto a towel, leave the remaining letters in the oven. Promptly remove the adhesive backing and apply the letters into the template, while using your towel to press and hold the letters in place as they bend to the curvature of the hood for 30-45 seconds. Please be advised, 180+ degrees is hot enough to cause discomfort and harm. Please use extreme caution! Repeat this process until your custom name is proudly displayed on the hood.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the opposite side of the hood.
  4. Using a heat gun can be used, but is not recommended as you cannot control the amount of heat being dissipated to a given area. Risks of using a heat gun include burning yourself, damaging the emblem, damaging your vehicle, discoloration of emblem, burning, charring, and warping the acrylic.
